Terms & Conditions

  1. A deposit of 250 per person must be paid at the time of booking to reserve a place.This deposit is non-refundable unless South America Overland cannot offer you a place on your stated trip.
  2. Full payment for the trip must be made at least 60 days before the departure date.If payment is not made South America Overland can assume the booking cancelled and your deposit is forfeit.
  3. If a booking is made less than 60 days before departure this must include payment in full.
  4. If you must cancel your booking more than 60 days before departure we will refund any balance payment made for the trip but the deposit will not be refunded.Your deposit can be transferred to another trip offered by South America Overland.
  5. If you cancel your booking 60 days or less before the day of departure ant monies paid will not be refunded.These monies can be used as payment towards another trip offered by us.
  6. If it is necessary for us to cancel your trip prior to departure we will offer you a full refund of all monies paid to us.
  7. If you decide to leave the trip after departure no refund will be given of trip payment.You will receive a refund of unused kitty money,less any advance payments we have made on your behalf as part of the trip.
  8. Our trips require a minimum number of clients before they run.If this number is not reached,we reserve the right to cancel the trip and refund any monies paid.
  9. Although we advertise an intended route and will try to adhere to this,it is possible that we may have to alter the route after the trip has begun.
  10. We cannot be held responsible for problems arising due to political disputes, border closures, epidemics, natural disasters, climate, force majeure, armed robbery, terrorism etc. If we are forced to abandon a trip due to unforeseen circumstances South America Overland are entitiled to retain monies to cover any costs incurred,and then issue a refund according to the number of weeks completed.
  11. All clients must have their own personal travel insurance in place before the trip begins.
  12. Clients must understand the trip will take them to countries often lacking in Western infrastructure and being in these countries will involve an amount of personl risk.Travelling in these countries can also be dangerous as roads and other vehicles using them are often in poor condition.Also,emergency and medical services can be limited or absent.
  13. The decision of the tour leader is final in all matters regarding satisfactory progress of the trip and organisation,health and safety of the group.
